Do not touch or transmit nearby
Avoid handling, switching off, charging or dismantling the item. Move sensitive communications to a trusted device and location if it is safe to do so.
02
Limit knowledge
Tell only the people needed to manage safety, legal and investigative decisions. Do not confront a suspected person or post photographs publicly.
03
Get appropriate advice
Depending on the context, contact law enforcement, legal counsel, corporate security and a competent TSCM provider. Agree who controls the scene and records any evidence movement.
04
Record without disturbing
If safe and legally appropriate, note the time, place, who discovered it and who has entered the area. Do not sacrifice safety to create a record.
