01

What may be in scope

The agreed inspection can consider trackers, microphones, cameras, unfamiliar wiring and suspicious electronic additions. Built-in telematics and legitimate accessories must be distinguished from anomalies.

02

Why a phone app is not enough

Consumer Bluetooth scans expose only a narrow set of nearby devices. A tracker can use cellular, satellite, stored-data or intermittent transmission, and some placements require physical access to identify.

03

Plan safe access

Provide the vehicle make, model, access arrangements and any known service history. Do not remove a suspected device before evidence and personal-safety implications are considered.

Frequently asked

Can a switched-off tracker be found?+

A non-transmitting device cannot be found by looking for its radio signal alone. Physical and electronic inspection techniques may still identify it, depending on placement and access.

Is the vehicle inspected at my location?+

The safe and practical location is agreed during scoping; lighting, access, privacy and the ability to inspect the vehicle properly all matter.
